Visual Thoughts on the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer

I'm still pessimistic about the Web of Marc Webb and Andrew Garfields' version of Spider-Man and Sony's plans for the franchise. Making spinoffs is a terrible idea and this is coming from a guy who was reading all the web-spinner's titles from the 70s and 80s during Marvel's golden age when continuity was Spectacular. After Amazing movies such as Thor: The Dark World (2013) and the upcoming Marvel Team-Up of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there's a huge chance that ASM2 is going to be another John Carter (2012) or The Lone Ranger (2013). Honestly, I'm still astounded that after Marvel's Joe Quesada and numerous inept and ignorant writers urinated and defecated on the history of Peter Parker there are still young kids who cheer for the Adjectiveless Spidey.

After watching the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 however, all I can say is: THAT'S MY BOY RIGHT THERE!

Note: Instead of publishing a 700 word essay on why the last 20 years has been terrible for real Spider-Man fans, I thought images would be more fun. All scans are from the author's original collection.

From his Amazing Spider-Man#41 debut in 1966 to 1994, the Rhino has NEVER defeated Peter Parker (though he was considered a tough enemy for guys like Daredevil and the Thing)

There were three Green Goblins: Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn and Dr. Hamilton, Harry Osborn's psychiatrists - and ALL of them were third-rate villains no matter what recent Marvel writers say. Even Stan Lee admitted that the loser Osborn was never in the same weight class as Spidey!
